How to add a new employee to a new Time & Attendance device

This article explains how you can add employees to your new Time & Attendance devices. This article provides instructions for Time & Attendance devices purchased from DataByte as of November 2017, until present.

Scenario: You want to add an employee’s fingerprints, face or RFID card on your punch clock and you are syncing employee names from DataByte Workforce TimeKeeper

  1. Press M/OK until a screen appears saying ‘Please verify’ with a picture of a padlock on it

  2. After the screen appears type 9999 and press M/OK, type 531 and press M/OK again

  3. You will arrive at the main menu of the device and selected, there would be ‘User Mng’, press M/OK

  4. You would then arrive at another menu and New User will be highlighted, use the arrows on the keypad to navigate to Edit and press M/OK

  5. Select the user you would like to enroll onto the machine from the list

  6. Use the down arrow on the keypad to select Fingerprint and press M/OK (You may also select Face or Badge Number should you choose to use other methods of verification) 

  7. Ask the employee to put their finger onto the fingerprint sensor and ask them to repeat the process twice to allow the device to scan that finger a total of 3 times (On-screen insturctions are also provided for enrolling users with face-recognition and RFID cards)

  8. You can then scan more fingers if you press M/OK or if you click ESC, the device will only read 1 fingerprint

  9. When back on the menu for ‘New user’ you may also add a name for the user to make their entry easily identifiable

  10. After pressing ESC, the punch clock the employee data would be saved.

Scenario: You want to setup an employee on your punch clock and you are not syncing employee names from DataByte Workforce TimeKeeper

  1. Press M/OK until a screen appears saying ‘Please verify’ with a picture of a padlock on it

  2. After the screen appears type 9999 and press M/OK, type 531 and press M/OK again

  3. You will arrive at the main menu of the device and selected, there would be ‘User Mng’, press M/OK

  4. You would then arrive at another menu and New User will be highlighted, press M/OK
