How to start and end a year with WorkForce Leave

Scenario 1: You have a Fusion account setup and would like to provide leave to your employees. At the end of the year you would also want to pay your employees for their remaining leave, or you would like to carry leave over to the next year.

Scenario 2: It is the end of the year would like to provide leave to your employees for the next year. At the end of the year you would also want to pay your employees for their remaining leave, or you would like to carry leave over to the next year.

Beginning of year procedure:

  1. Log in to Fusion (https://fusion.databyte.com.mt)
  2. Click the product switcher (on the top button on the left of the Fusion application), and click Leave. Alternatively, you can access the leave module at this URL: https://leave.databyte.com.mt
  3. From the left hand side menu, go to Setup > Leave Types
  4. A number of default leave types are already available in the ‘Select Leave Type’ drop-down menu. Select the Leave you would like to provide, the date that it starts from, add the number of hours that the employee is entitled to, add the minimum number of hours that the employee can book and finally tick or untick the checkboxes underneath the 2 rows of fields that there are available.Note: You have the option to create additional leave types if needed, however these will not show up in the payslips. We recommend that you use the default leave types provided for standard leave.

End of year procedure:

  1. Log in to Fusion (https://fusion.databyte.com.mt)
  2. Click the product switcher (on the top button on the left of the Fusion application), and click Leave. Alternatively, you can access the leave module at this URL: https://leave.databyte.com.mt
  3. From the left hand side menu, go to ‘End Of Year’
  4. Expand the boxes for each leave type
  5. Add the maximum amount of hours that you would like to carry forward or pay per employee or a default number of hours for all employees in the top line underneath Hours Limit per leave type
  6. Select whether the employee should have the leave Carried forward or paid per leave time
  7. Click Save
  8. Repeat the same process for all leave types.
